Hello everyone! This is going to be an adventure if I ever saw one.
Everyone that knows me knows that I like to be creative. That has taken different avenues over the years. From being young and playing around with jewelry making with my sister, to attempting sewing (you don’t want to see anything from that stage of my life), to baking wholesome whole wheat goodies, I’ve tried lots of different things. Some things stuck, some things…didn’t. I always used to say that I had a lot of creativity in my mind, but not always the creative ability to make those ideas happen.
I’ve also always been drawn to more natural ways of living. This year, I’m embarking on a journey of change. Not only do I plan to change my eating habits and how I cook, but I also plan to change what I’m wearing (clothing, makeup, skincare, etc.). Sounds like a big task! Overall, it is. But to sustainably make these changes, they will have to be done one at a time.

When I was a young girl, I was drawn to the medical field. I would watch medical shows instead of cartoons if I had a say in the matter. This turned into a career as a nurse. Working as a nurse has always brought be joy, but I had a front row seat witnessing how the medical field as a whole is one that markets sickness, not health. You have an ailment? Here’s a pill for that. You need to lose weight fast? Here’s a pill for that too. Oh, you have side effects from those pills? Here’s another pill. And so on and so forth. Health doesn’t make money in the medical field. I’m wanting to change that, at least for my own family.
In the last few years, I’ve also started a journey of becoming a Doula. I love birth. Want to know one of those medical shows I would watch growing up? You guessed it…A Baby Story. A TLC show that followed mothers-to-be as they prepared for and gave birth to their babies. I was enthralled. I have had the opportunity to assist with my sister’s two births and a friend’s birth and I was hooked. A future blog post will detail how it all came about. I myself have used a Doula for the birth of my daughter, and I will never give birth without one of my own. They are so valuable.

Above all of the things that I have done or been in my life thus far, the most important is that I believe in Jesus, the Risen Savior of the world. I became a Christian at a very young age and though I believe that I was genuine in my confession, I hadn’t really experienced a lot yet. As I got older, I experienced loss of family members, anxiety and depression, difficult decisions, miscarriages and lots of change. Through each season of life, God was constant and never changed. He continued to walk with me even when I didn’t want a whole lot to do with Him.
There’s so much I could say and detail about so much I’ve already said, but it’ll all have to come out individually or else this would be a loooooong post. I’m excited to share stories from my life on here as well as the journey of health that I am taking. Bare with me, I’m kind of scattered.
Thanks for stopping by!
